Navigating the Waves of Growth: 5 Planned Crucial Business Resolutions in 2024 New Year

Greetings from the On the Same Page Consulting team!

At the end of last year and now at the beginning of a new year, our team has been meeting and one of the things we have done is reflect on the challenges and triumphs of the past year. This is part of our business planning strategy.

Whilst most people think of business planning as sitting down and writing a stuffy document that will never get used, at On the Same Page Consulting we see it as an opportunity to connect and build the business and the plan together in a way that keeps it relevant and is fun and engaging.

Our approach to the team meeting - virtually

On a side note, it’s easier and harder to do this with the virtual team that we operate with at On the Same Page Consulting. Easier because no one must travel, no catering is required and there is no awkwardness about where to sit; But harder, because it’s easier for people at our workplaces (homes) to interrupt us, most of us have forgotten to unmute, there is no body language to read subtle changes in mood and we haven't yet figured out how to bribe engagement with great food.

However, we find regular catch ups integral to the success of our team vibe, so we are learning as we go and implementing new ways of being engaging online. We find it important for every person in the team, from the Managing Director to the junior administrators to have a voice and provide input and so far this has been enlightening because everyone has something to offer.

We love this article about why to have team meetings  https://www.indeed.com/career-advice/career-development/reasons-for-meetings  We definitely agree with these 6 points.

During the reflection process, we held honest and robust conversations about what worked and what didn’t. As a result, we identified five actions that will shape our journey as a small business team in 2024.

We're excited to share these insights with you, our valued community, and discuss the actionable resolutions we're putting in place to address them head-on.

1. A Blueprint for Success: Collaboratively reviewing and updating policies and procedures

In the dynamic landscape of business, policies and procedures serve as our guiding compass.

We've recognised the need to regularly review, update and expand these to adapt to evolving industry standards and client expectations.

We're committed to implementing a whole of team review system, ensuring our policies remain not only relevant but also aligned to our core values of Empathy. Integrity. Reliability. Independence. Creativity. By fostering a culture of continuous improvement, we aim to enhance the efficiency of our operations and the satisfaction of our clients and stakeholders.

We are happy to report that we not only committed to that but have also begun actioning it in the first month of the year. The whole team has been providing input and feedback on new and updated policies and it is great to see the value that can be added by doing this collaboratively.

Further, we know that collaboration is the key to policies and procedures being relevant and useful to the business. If they are not implemented, then they can become worthless “pieces of paper”.

Do you have policies and procedures in your business? Are they working for you?

2. Staying Ahead of the Curve: Learning new skills and broadening our range of services

The pace of change in the business world demands agility and adaptability.

Our second resolution involves a commitment to learning new skills and expanding our service offerings. Through ongoing training programs and industry certifications, we are investing in the professional development of our team. This ensures that we not only keep pace with emerging trends but also allows us to offer our diverse experience in a wide range of areas.

As we broaden our range of services, we look forward to bringing even more value to our clients in 2024 and beyond.

Are you actively seeking opportunities to develop yourself and your team? If not, why?

3. Building Connections in a Digital Era: Promoting regularly and consistently on social media

In an age where digital presence is paramount, we've learned the importance of regular and consistent promotion on social media.

Therefore, our third resolution involves a strategic and structured approach to social media marketing. By implementing a content calendar and leveraging various platforms, we aim to engage with our audience consistently. This will not only provide information to our community, foster meaningful connections with our followers but also boost our brand visibility.

Keep an eye out for exciting updates and valuable insights as we embark on this journey of enhanced digital connection.

4. Strengthening Bonds: Focussing on improving communication

Effective communication is the backbone of any successful organisation.

In our fourth resolution, the On the Same Page Consulting team pledged to enhance internal and external communication channels.

This involves optimising our project management tools, conducting regular team-building exercises, and fostering an environment where every team member feels heard. By improving transparency and ensuring clarity in our communication, we aim to strengthen relationships with our clients, stakeholders, collaborators and our dedicated team.

5. Giving Back to the Community: Promoting worthy causes

As a values based business, we recognise the impact we can have beyond our immediate operations.

Our fifth resolution (and something that has always been planned in our business plan) involves increasing our active promotion and support for worthy causes. Whether it's through charitable donations, volunteering, or raising awareness, we're committed to making a positive difference in the communities we serve.

To start off the year, Conni Warren is again supporting the Cancer Council’s March Charge. She will be walking (charging) to raise funds for Cancer research and support services. Click here to support her in this worthy cause.

Thank you for being part of our journey, and we look forward to continuing to grow and succeed together!
