Why corporate values are important…

In today's world, where businesses, and in some cases Not for Profits, are competing for customer attention, it's crucial to stand out by being transparent about Corporate values.

Values-based business decisions and actions not only create a positive brand image but also help to attract customers, collaborators, and team members who share your vision and ethics.

Recently, I created a LinkedIn post about #valuesbasedbusiness. The video post emphasised the importance of compassion and tolerance, after I had witnessed it demonstrated by some kind-hearted people, despite them facing extreme pain and being in mourning for a loved one. This inspired me to evaluate my own business and align it back to the values that resonated with me when I started it.

Because of this, On The Same Page Consulting will now focus on attracting clients, collaborators, and people who speak and act with integrity and align with our core values of:

Empathy. Integrity. Reliability. Independence. Creativity.

I firmly believe that business decisions and actions must align with an organisation's values.

But this isn't just about my business. I want to challenge you to ask yourself and your team about your Corporate values.

  • Have you written them down? Or published them on your website?

  • Do your team members know what they are?

  • When was the last time you talked with your team about how your values guide your business?

  • Do your clients know your values?

Being transparent about your values can have a significant impact on your organisation’s success.

Not only does it help attract like-minded individuals, but it also fosters trust and credibility with clients.

Moreover, organisations that act with integrity and stay true to their values are more likely to retain customers, gain positive reviews, and create brand loyalty.

You don’t have to be a large organisation to have Corporate values, as described in this HBR article: https://hbr.org/2018/04/how-to-establish-values-on-a-small-team.

If this post resonated with you, or if you share similar values or if you want to explore how you can align your business with your values, I invite you to connect with me.

Ciao
